Y6 Football

14/02/2018

Last week, the year 6 boys had their first match in a new league against Boldmere. It was an incredibly even match with super passes and many near misses. Deanery went 1-0 ahead but Boldmere soon equalised. In the second half, the boys showed great teamwork and encouragement, demonstrating their skills. Unfortunately, Boldmere scored again, making it 2-1 to them where it remained to the end of the game. The boys gained a lot from this match and have already worked on tactics for their next game. Well done boys.

Swimming Gala

14/02/2018

On Saturday 3rd February, the Deanery entered the Sutton large school's swimming gala. We won the girls' trophy; we came 4th (by one point) in the boys' category; we came joint 2nd in the relays so overall we came second. We were really happy when the girls won because we haven't won since 1986. During the competition, we cheered on all the other schools. In fact, one parent from another school was really impressed with how we supported and encouraged all the other swimmers. It was great fun and exciting to take part in. Thank you to Mrs Luckett, Mr Walker, Miss Westbrook, Mrs Allison and Mrs Hale.

Birmingham School Games - Cricket Final

31/07/2017

Having won the Sutton Coldfield Y5 cricket competition, Deanery went on to represent the Wilson Stuart Active Society at the Summer Games held at King Edwards school. The children had a wonderful day, getting all the way to the final where the two competing teams finished level on runs. Unfortunately, the game was then decided on the number of 6's scored, meaning that Deanery finished 2nd. This was still an incredible achievement and the team were complimented on there sportsmanship and the way they conducted themselves throughout the day. All the children were a credit to the school and there families. Well done.
