Homework

Nursery
• One reading book a week – shared with an adult for approximately 10 minutes a week.
• Jolly Phonics books – sounds practised daily for 5 minutes.
• Maths target – 5–10 minutes a week

Reception
• Up to five reading books a week – shared with an adult for 5-10 minutes daily
• Jolly Phonics sounds – sounds practised daily for 5 minutes
• Key words – summer term – sounds practised daily for 5 minutes
• Maths targets – 10 minutes a week

Year One
• Jolly Phonics with emphasis on digraphs – sounds practised daily for 5-10 minutes
• Up to three reading books a week – daily reading for 10 minutes
• Spellings – linked to sounds and key words – 10 minutes per week
• Maths targets – 10 minutes a week
• Mathletics – 10 minutes a week

Year Two
• Reading – 10 minutes a day
• Phonics for those that require this – 5-10 minutes a day
• Spellings – linked to sounds and key words – 10 minutes a week
• Mathletics – 10 minutes a week
• Fortnightly writing target homework – teachers will provide suggestions and ideas for writing; this could be a topic they have been learning about at school, TV or book review, my news or a topic of their own choice (20 minutes every two weeks)

Year Three
• Reading – 10 minutes a day (option to change books more frequently at lunchtime)
• Phonics for those that require this
• Spellings – linked to a spelling rule or pattern – 10 minutes a week
• Mathletics – 10 minutes a week
